Your story matters. I use technology to tell human stories…like yours!
How It Works
1. We talk. A Zoom conversation, recorded and transcribed with your permission. These conversations and materials are private, and belong to you. You have permanent access to all materials.
2. I shape. I craft a draft based on what you’ve shared, your readers, and your purpose.
3. We revise. You approve or refine as we work toward what feels most true.
4. We finalize. You receive a polished piece—yours to share or build on.
Optional Add-on Services:

Who am I?
Peg Syverson, Ph.D.
I’m a retired professor of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Texas at Austin. I’ve helped thousands of people develop into confident, capable writers who genuinely enjoy putting their ideas on the page. My work is based on my experience researching and teaching writing over 25 years at UC San Diego and the University of Texas, and as Director of the Computer Writing and Research Lab and the Undergraduate Writing Center at UT, the largest in the country.
I’ve also been devoted to spiritual inquiry and exploration since 1966. With my teaching partner, Flint Sparks, I continue as a senior founding teacher of Appamada, a contemporary Zen center in Austin, Texas (appamada.org). Appamada started in 1995 and now has affiliates in England, Madison, Minneapolis, and other locations. My current book project, Not Two: The Appamada Story is being serialized here:

What I Do
You talk. I ask questions and listen. We shape your story.
I help you turn your ideas and experiences into clear, powerful writing.
Through guided conversation, smart transcription, and expert editing, I help you articulate what matters—whether it’s a book project, a business story, a memoir, or a reflection-in-progress.
Who This Is For
You have a story you’ve been meaning to tell, or a book you are trying to write.
You have a business or service that needs to tell a personal story.
You’re not a writer, but you’ve lived something worth sharing.
You’ve started a memoir or reflection, and need clarity and structure.
You’re helping a loved one preserve their voice and life.
You want your voice to be heard—in writing that sounds like you.
